Surya (Sanskrit: सूर्य , Bengali: সূর্য়) was a Brahmin (Brahmana) who lived around 642 CE in Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh.

In 642 CE, Surya migrated[1] from Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh to Baroda District in Gujarat. This is recorded in the 642 AD Sankheda Plates of Gurjara Dadda II who belonged to the Gurjara clan of Broach, a branch of the Gurjara family of Rajputana who were feudatories to either the Gurjara family of Rajputana or the Chalukyas.
