Rishikesha (Sanskrit: हृषिकेश , Bengali: হৃষিকেশ )  was a Brahmin (Brahmana) who lived around 906 CE in Sambalpur region of Odisha.

In 941 CE, Rishikesha's son Vasudeva migrated1 from Sambalpur region of Odisha to a village in Balangir district of Orissa. This is recorded in the 941 AD Patna Plate of Janamajeya Mahabhavagupta I (935 - 970), who belonged to the Somavamsa family which ruled over the area around Sambalpur region of Orissa.
