Govinda Sharman

Govinda Sharman or Govindasharman (Sanskrit:  गोविंदशर्मन् , Bengali: গোবিংদশর্মন্ ) was a Brahmin (Brahmana) who lived around 805 CE in Uttara Radha (northern part of South west Bengal). His father's name was Bhattanarayana.

In 805 CE, Govindasharman migrated1 from Uttara Radha (northern part of South West Bengal) to village called Puruvanja in Ganjam District of Orissa. This is recorded in the Devendravarman III Indian Museum Plates of 805 AD of Eastern Ganga1 ruler Devendravarman III (800 to 809 CE)3.
