Dharasena II Charter of Maitraka dynasty of Valabhi

Dharasena II belonged to the family of the Maitraka dynasty[1] of Valabhi[2]. He ruled around 590 CE in the Kathiawar Peninsula region[3].

As per the Dharasena II Charter of 590 CE, Dharasena II granted two localities in Kheda District[4] earlier known as Kaira District in central eastern Gujarat to a Brahmin Vishnumitra  (Sanskrit: विष्णुमित्र, Bengali: বিষ্ণুমিত্র) from Vadnagar[5] in north eastern Gujarat (incidentally the birthplace of Shri Narendra Modi[6], the Prime Minister of India[7]).
