Bhatta Makyadeva

Bhatta Makyadeva ( Sanskrit : भट्ट माक्यदेव Bengali: ভট্ট মাক্যদেব ) was a Brahmin (Brahmana) who lived around 925 CE in Takari, located in Gonda region of Uttar Pradesh. His father's name was Jalladeva.

In 925 CE, Bhatta Makyadeva migrated from Gonda[1] in Uttar Pradesh to Ganjam region[2] of Odisha. This is recorded in the Shantigrama Plates of Dandi Mahadevi[3], daughter of Shubhakara V, who belonged to the Bhauma-karas, who exercised control over Balasore, Cuttack, Puri and northern Ganjam district.
