On Kulina system among Radhi brahmins - 06

It was probably during the reign of deva king danauja mAdhava (around 1250 AD) (as per dhruvAnanda's mahAvaMshAvali and maheshvara's nirdoShakUlapanjikA) that vamsaja Brahmins evolved as a separate category of rADhi brahmins.

1. ThoTho, son of kOlAhala mukho
2. dAyI, son of kOlAhala mukho
3. vashita, son of shankar mukho (and brother of baladeva)
4. kubera, son of dharmaMshu bandya (and brother of devavala)
5. chakrapANi, son of mahAdeva
6. kUlabhUshaNa, son of vaidya

The above mentioned 6 people were considered as vamsaja by king danauja mAdhava, as they had not followed the appropriate kUla-based marriage rules. Some genealogists, consider these 6 people and their descendants as vamsaja's.

However, as per kUlarAma, the following 5 people were the first to be classifed as vamsaja, as they had not followed kUla rules.

1. rudra, son of vishvambara bandya
2. lakhai, son of guNa bandya
3. ratnakara, son of binga bandya
4. pashupati, son of dhUsha mukho
5. gAbho, son of prabhAkara mukho
